Decision is to push north to Inverness.. today should have been a rest day, but the fuel crisis is causing concern. There is fuel in Inverness, but not known for how long. Cycling up the Great Glen was easy going.. all familiar territory, having grown up around the area, and knowing the sights along the loch. First stop was Glen Nevis distillery where photos were taken for the Oban Times, a local newspaper.. to increase publicity of the event. Saw Ben and Nevis , the highland cows.. and were donated a bottle of Glen Nevis whiskey. Sunny day, great cycling.. tagged along with some local cycling club members out on a stroll.
Were pondering only going to dornoch, and keeping the day to 40 miles, as the day before was sore on the legs, having given up the rest day and just done Ben Nevis. Once warmed up though we decided it was best to knock off as much mileage before the end.. new plan is to get to Wick on next day and do last 17 miles on Sunday. Camped over night at north of Brora.. clear skies.. great weather again, despite bad forcasts again.
