Baltic Tour 2007
Tour of Estonia, Finland and Sweden.

I went on holiday for 3 weeks.
This is my notes.
I have formatted this section so that if you click on the date, a new window will open to contain the images browser.
If the window already exists, it will jump to the right location on the page in that window.
I have sorted the Ruisrock 2007 images in to a seperate location, so they are better formatted there.

I also took a few videos at Ruisrock, which can be found here.

amorello, Viking lines The boat left on time, with a glorious sun beating down on everyone. Again I feel the sadness of leaving behind friends to go on with the journey. This part of the journey takes me through the archipelago from Suomi to Sverige taking 10 hours. The time shift makes it 11 effective hours. Good facilities on the ship mean I can leave my rucksack in a locker, however the guitar does not fit. I may play some on the journey though so it works out well. Jenna called asking me to play only instrumental part for radiohead creep, I have agreed to find a place to play guitar to record it, however this is likely to be when I get to stockholm as it is too noisy outside to get a good recording. The scenery is beautiful here, with islands everywhere and lots of people sailing. I have found a good deal for drinks, that being 45cl of Lapin Kulta + shot of Jägermeister for €6 Shortly after this a fellow passenger advised me of a luggage room where I could stow the guitar so I did this. After Jenna called my other phone I went to the live music as the rain had come in. I tried to talk to a Finnish girl but as is their way she ran away, and as I was sitting already I lay down and fell asleep, waking up after all the food places had closed. I did manage to get some salad rolls before we disembarked, and then managed to haggle a cheap (for Sweden!) taxi fare to the campsite. As I got to the stadium it became apparent that there was a Metallica concert on. Having had so much on the boat however I was easily able to fall asleep for the night.

Woke up to Jenna trying to call, that girl sure can call early! After leaving my phone at campsite reception to charge, I headed to the old town. My first obstacle was the less than helpful locals, who seemed to find my ignorance of their transport system annoying. I eventually got annoyed myself and found a pub, which was too early to serve beer. However the patron was able to point to a shop that would sell me an all day ticket at last. I went to the post museum. This enabled me to quickly check email also, and then I headed back to camp to drop off waterproofs and pick up phone. I headed in to the center to get info on tours and busses. I am now on the 28th floor of the TV tower, enjoying the rainy view and a cheeseburger. The next stop is the nutshell your, where I will be on bus and boat to see around stockholm. This does cost 310 SEK however, but since I am holiday I will bite the bullet, it is my last day afterall. This proved to be a good tour despite the price, and the boat trip provided a nice breath of fresh air chilled by the water. After this tour I headed back to then tent to freshen up for the night. I have headed to the Dubliner pub for a meal and live music, where I only just managed to get in as they had stopped arcing food and were charging 100kronor entry. An exception was made as I am only one, and so I am enjoying free entry but an expensive meal. The meal was good and service excellent, so a big thumbs up, 3 cheers for the Irish hospitality!
