In aid of RNIB and Alzheimer Scotland.
First rest day.. we both had an unwind while waiting for replacement support guy.. went to the Pump-Storage power station at Llanberis.. it can produce 1350MW of electricity to the National Grid at less than a minute's notice.. each of the 6 generators can be producing 250MW in less than 6 seconds. They shifted 12 million tonnes of rock from inside a mountain and made a cavern that St Paul's Cathedral could fit inside, to hide the station from view, maintaining the slate quarry and the natural beauty.. very impressive. Support van arrives, with new driver, and we move accomodation, leaving the bikes at the hostel.
Couldn't have asked for a better day to go up snowdon.. we had moved from the hostel to a B and B, which was well stocked with nice Single Malt's. Went up the short route up Snowdon.. called the Pyg track.. and down the tourist route.. managed to do some collecting in the cafe at the top. Afternoon spent servicing the bikes, which had done 398 miles.
