Things are unsettled in the camp.. our support guy has been not up to the job the past week, and we are tired.. slowly getting in to a routine for distance, today's plan was to get to Oswestry, where there is a cycle museum. Stopped in Ludlow to mail someone close to Oswestry, no luck in getting in touch though. The rain made us decide to press on to Llangollen, the start of the passes towards Snowdonia.. and so at Oswestry we phoned the hostel there and booked up, pressing on in the rain.. our support guy driving, decided he was tired, called his cousin, and had a tea while we went the last 13 miles.. just under 60 mins later we made it to the hostel, and another 30 mins later the support guy arrives, with us pretty pissed off at him for making us hang around in wet clothes. He drives off the next morning to go home, having had some personal problems there and wanting to sort them. we had to arrange a new support guy.
Unsupported journey to Snowdon, My Mom's cleat had broken in Oswestry so we had to stop in Betys-y-Coed to get a new one. Made it to Llanberis in good time, having stopped en route in a roadside cafe for delicious Banana Caramel Fudge thing, and coffee. The pass over Snowdon was less than I expected, and we were in good spirits getting to Llanberis.. both of us had started to relax from the stress of the support guy.
