Start of the Ho Chi Minh trail today.
I decided that since I was not comfortable at speed yet on the bike, despite my trip to the tunnels, that I would only go 103km or so.
The navigation on the phone was proving to be not very reliable for some of the way, and I got completely lost in HCMC before eventually finding my way out on to the main road to Dong Xoai.
As I left the m ain drag out of Ho Chi Minh, I cae across a bridge that had been mentioned in the guide and stopped to take the only photo of the day.
I averaged around 30kmh for this leg, which meant that it took 3.5 hours of riding.
On the way there, I noticed that there was still some oil coming out of the bottom of the bike, and also the horn had stopped working, so I found a garage and got them to look at it for me.
The horn was just a simple case of the wire having come loose from the horn, and the oil was due to the gearbox bolts needing to be resealed, and the bike shop did not charge me for any of the work, which only took a few minutes.
I located a Nga Nghi (homestay), hotel Thanh Sang, and then found a streetside place to grab some rice for dinner, before settling in for the night.
