This morning I headed over to Phuong's place so that I had a better machine to work from with regards to preparing the migration.
Even if there was no new box available to migrate to, there were plenty of tasks that needed to be completed on the old box, including archiving back ups and making sure the software was up to date.
After this, it was around lunch time, so we headed to the same restaurant chain in HCMC that President Obama had gone to in Hanoi, and ordered the Pho dish there, which again was delicious - I think I could get accustomed to Vietnamese cuisine!
After we had eaten our fill, we headed to Phuong's office, where they were holding a Christmas party - including cake and lots of snacks. I stopped off via a convenience store and got a party selection pack that I could offer them all, and then enjoyed chatting with Phuong's colleagues about my travels and inerest in language - especially as the work they did involved providing translations - or correcting existing translations for instruction manuals.
