I am finally on my way to Thailand - only 9 months or so behind schedule!
It was a slow morning, and I left the hostel at around 1.30pm, making it to the bus for 2.15 after a breakfast at the McCafe by the bus station.
The bus got to the airport for 3.15, and after queuing for a bit, I checked in at 3.40pm.
The flight was delayed by about 40 minutes, and we didn't leave until 6.30pm, but we made up some of the time during the flight, arriving at 7.40pm (6.40pm local time).
Immigration only took 30m, where the guy at the desk was on the phone and didn't really seem to be paying attention.
The stamp said I was admitted to stay until the 6th of December, which was just under the 30 days, but fortunately, my bus ticket was for the 6th, so as long as I got that bus I would be fine.
I managed to find the bus shuttle service for 100 baht, and made it to the hostel and checked in.
I had a look for a 7-11, as I'd been advised I could get a sim there, but was unable to manage.
On the way back I located a restaurant that was selling beef red curry, which I enjoyed, and chatted with an American couple who were paying 6000 baht per night for a hotel room - while my dorm bed was only 250 baht a night!
