Today I endeavoured to go to the Tiger and Dragon Pagoda, as well as have a wander around the Lotus Pond lake.
The MRT there took me near, and I had to avoid taxi drivers who wanted to take advantage of my being a tourist!
Just outside the station was an interesting sculpture made of railway signs and signals.
I found my way to the top of the lake, and had a rest before going to the first pagoda at the top of the lake and enjoying the views over the bridge.
I decided to walk down the west side of the lake, and came across multiple places which hadn't been on the itinerary.
There was a dragon themed area where you could walk through a dragon, and also out in to the middle of the lake.
I took some photos of the signs for translating later, and then took shelter under a tree as it started to rain.
Next up was the main event, the Tiger and Dragon Pagoda.... two stupas - you enter through the Dragon's mouth, and can go up 5 or 6 floors for the views, then to the next tower for the same, and out the Tiger's mouth.
This was a very popular touristy spot despite the weather.
I took a bus to the nearest MRT station after this, and headed back to the hostel, after arranging with Rose to meet her at an english pub.
That went well, and Rose demonstrated how to eat chicken properly - gristle and all! I don't think I'll ever do that!
