Today I saw the sun for the first time in days!
I opted to walk to the beach, as it was only a few kilometers, though apparently only crazy people walk in this country, as 3 or 4 people stopped to check if I was OK since I was walking.
I had passed some Obikes b this point, and decided I would try it out, so downloaded the app and hopped on abike after loading up with some credit.
I rode the obike to the beach, and was glad of my decision as it was quite a bit further than it looked on the map!
I liked the obike concept though - you are only billed for the time that the bike is unlocked - so you unlock it where you find it, and then lock it up when you get to where you're going. At this point, anyone else can unlock it with their own app, and take it, or if they don't, you can get the same bike back later.
I enjoyed the stunning views and watched military aircraft doing exercises above the ocean, before heading to go and see the fish museum.
Once I got there I found a sign that stated the place had burned down a few months previously and it was not possible to rebuild.
I cycled back to hostel, and after a fashion managed to find aplace I could leave the obike.
While I was at the hostel, I booked to go on the Taroko gorge tour for tomorrow.
