We left early again, this appearing to be a running theme for this part of my trip!
The first part took us from Cebu to Toledo to get the boat, and it was still early morning by the time we reached there - that being 4.12am!!
The boat from Toledo to San Carlos was very similar to the other ferry, and provided bunk beds in the open air deck (with a ceiling) to sleep on.
As such, since it was so dark anyway and nothing much to see, we slept until the boat arrived in San Carlos.
As we had been driving to Toledo, with the extra load on the van of the engines, we noticed that there was an issue with the wheel, which was rubbing against something when we took a left turn.
With that in mind, we took it to a mechanic, and left it there to be sorted while we headed for breakfast at a hotel that Ross and Imelda knew.
We came back to the garage, and established that the reason for the rubbing noise was that the brake calipers were the wrong size and so were rubbing o nthe disk under load.
We continued on our way to Bacolod, now in daylight, and were rewarded with spectacular scenery.
At one point we overtook a family of four on a bike, and I managed to just snap a photo so that I could complete the challenge that Dad had set of photographing such a thing!
After oing through the field, we were on the plains towards Bacolod, and driving through sugar plantations, which were like tall grass.
We made it to the port, where we said hasty good byes (Ross and Imelda still had a lot to do before getting back to Sipalay), and I managed to get the next boat which was no wait, on to Iloilo.
I arrived in port where Raine was waiting for me, and we grabbed a Jeepney to the hostel I was staying at so I could drop my luggage off there.
We headed to Mang Inisal after that, for a late lunch where I had the real deal - rice and chicken - yum - Raine showing me that you need to eat with your fingers and not use any cutlery.
After that we took another Jeepney to CPU where Raine had to pick up her son, and I took the Jeepney back to the hostel and enjoyed some much needed rest!
