I had already booked the day trip diving while back in Kotakinabalu, so I just had to turn up to the dive shop at 7.15am to provide registration information and prove that I was a diver as stated, as well as get kitted out.
By now I already knew the size of wetsuit I needed and fins, so got those organised, and then had a bit of time before we had to board the boat.
I realised at this point I would need my sunglasses, so headed back to the hostel to retrieve them, and discovered that I could not locate them at all.
After checking the easy spots to reach in my backpack, as well as the locker where I'd stored my valuables, I gave up, and headed back to the jetty, where we boarded the boat which took us to Mabul Island Resort.
