After having a lazy day the day before, taking photos from the signal tower, I headed to the bus station for the bus to Sandakan.
I made it there for 1130h bus, however the schedule that was being used in the hostel was old, and in fact the bus I needed to get leaves at 1230h - at least it wasn't the other way around!
The first part of the journey was through the same area as going to Kinablu Park so I got a second chance to look at the mountain and area.
After we made it past the poring hot springs area, we tered in to areas full of Palm plantation, which meant that there really was not a lot to see. It was disheartening to see how much jungle has been surrendered to the palm oil industry now.
I arrived at the bus terminal in Sandakan around 7pm, and got a grab taxi to the hostel, which was quite a distance away, at the waterfront.
I had booked a dorm room, however it was so quiet at the hostel, they gave me a private room for the same price, since nobody else was in the dorm room.
After sorting out my bags I headed out to find some food, and had some nasi goreng for dinner.
