I woke at 9 this morning, and went to the restaurant next door to have Roti Telur for breakfast.
After sorting out my kit, I took it all to the cheaper hostel along the road, and was allowed to check in already since the bed was already available.
I grabbed lunch at the same place as the day before and then headed back to the hostel to wait for the tour bus, which was picking me up at 2pm.
The bus was late, but the agents called the hostel to reassure me that it was on the way, and then he arrived, having gone to the wrong side of the hostel, so there was a short walk to the bus.
We picked up two other groups, one at Kampung Air, and another at a hotel resort a bit out of the main city, and then during the two hour drive to the river, we were introduced to what to look out for on the trip.
I made friends with two Italian ladies, and there were 2 malaysians and 3 japanese people all on this trip.
We made it to Klias river around 4.10pm, where we were treated to a late afternoon snack before boarding the boat to go up river.
Kopi dan teh, pisang goreng, and a green bean soup were on offer, all of which was delicious!
On the river cruise, it was lovely calm weather and we saw all the mentioned kinds of monkeys - Proboscis were the main attraction, and we were very lucky to get to see some silver leaf monkeys as well. Of course, the macacques were also around, though they seemed to be everywhere, so not so much of a draw for the tourists!.
We were also privilidged to get a glimpse of 3 hornbills, though they were elusive enough to stay hidden from the camera!
We headed back to base camp and enjoyed dinner of Nasi Putih, Ayam Kari, Rundang (Daging), Ayam Sup, vegetables, and Cendul for drink.
After everyone had eaten up, we headed back to the river to see the fireflies, hough that trip was very short, as due to the season, it started raining after sunset. Despite the rain, we did get to see many fireflies around the trees, flitting about and almost making it like a christmas scene!
We got back to the base camp for aruond 7pm, and headed back to KK, arriving at9.30pm.
Back in the hostel, I got chatting with my new room mates, both of whom were Malaysian, and well travelled, from Pinang
