Today is figure out the city day.
I went to all of the dive shops that I could find to establish prices for getting my Advanced Open Water certificate.
Diverse Borneo had the cheapest option, with 875RM for the advanced course, including meals and boat and park fees.
I also got some leaflets from Scuba Junkies for diving in Semporna, and found out about prices to do some day trips to Beaufort and Gunung Kinabalu.
The cost of doing the 2 day trip to the summit of Gg Kinabalu was 1900RM so I decided against that - for that kind of money I could have four days of diving!
I found a local restaurant, and the guy turned up with an english menu, so he was very pleased and surprised when I ordered in malay!
After lunch, I checked another hostel I had found that was cheaper, and confirmed that they had space, so I reserved the bed, and then went back to my current hostel to sort out laundry.
Both machines were in use when I got there, so I chatted with my room mate Rich, who is setting up a diving resort north of KK.
After getting my stuff together, I headed back to the Diverse Borneo shop and booked the Advanced course with them, as well as a river cruise and day trip to Gunung Kinabalu park.
