I left the hostel at 6.20 am and made it to the bus station for 6.30, just as a number 38 bus (which ent to Muara) go past.
I hopped on a 39 instead, which left at 6.45 and made it to the Muara bus terminal for 7.55am, wth just a 20 minute wait until the bus to the feri terminal.
I wasn't going to walk the few km with the rucksack if I could at all avoid it!
The ticket from bandar Seri was valid for the bus to the feri, so it had only cost me $1 to get to the feri, and I was at the terminal for 8.33
After purchasing the ticket, I headed to the cafe and grabbed some breakfast, and then headed to go through customs at 8.55am.
At this point while my bags were being searched, I remembered that I had failed to take a photo of Arthur in Brunei, so I asked the customs officer if it was OK to photograph him there, which, surprisingly, he agreed to, so I took a selfie of me, with the officer holding arthur!
I boarded the boat at 9.05, and we departed at 9.40 after prayers to Allah for the safe passage of everyone on board.
The first part of this trip didn't take very long, as Labuan island in Malaysia is very close, so I got my passport stamped there, for a new 90 days period!, and grabbed some rojak and some other sweet food to snack on before making y way to the next boat to Kota Kinabalu.
Due to the lack of internet in Brunei I had not booked any hostel in KK, though I had found a few places ahead of time, so walked to the Sako guest house a few km from the feri terminal, where I was able to book in, though to get the quoted price I had to go on hostelworld and book there and then pay the remainder balance in cash!
