There were a few stops that the bus made on the way to Miri,
the first to pick some more passengers up at Serian, and then the main food stop being at Yi Jia food center, which was not really near any settledments.
We reached Sibu at around 4.20am and stayed for an hour before heading onwards.
At around 6.45am somebody's phone alarm went off, and was the sound of a cockerell crowing. This kept up for at least the next two hours, sometimes pausing for 10 minutes, but always coming back with the cock-a-doodle-doo!
We had another rest stop at 0740h, in the middle of nowhere, 2.587032,112.555887, and continue on to Bintulu where we had a 30 minute stop which allowed us to go and grab some breakfast.
I took a nasi ayam in a bag option and also bought a can of Milo, before we continued onwards to Miri at 1005h
The next notable moment on the journey was around 1053h, where we passed a pickup that was on its roof off the road, before we reached Batu Niah junction at around 1212h.
It was still another 3 hours before we actually reached Miri, the whole journey having taken 15 hours!
I had done some looking up of hostels, and as I had not booked anywhere, felt it prudent to call ahead. Having confirmed a place, I booked a grab there, which only cost 3RM thanks to a nice discount I got for being a frequent user!
I got to the hostel and went for a nap as I felt exhausted from the bus journey, and ended up sleeping through to the next morning.
