I woke up around 8.30am, determined to be able to chase up the passport if needs be. My idea was that if I hadn't heard anything by 1pm, I would call them again and fin out what was happening.
When I checked my phone, I found that I had a missed call from 8am from the High Commission, so I gave them a call back, and they confirmed that they had located the package with my passport, and that I could come in at 10.30 to pick it up!
I sorted my stuff out and headed to the High Commission. At one point en route I thought I was going to be late, but the LRT made it with time to spare, and I went through the required checks and made it to the 27th floor on time.
I spoke with the person who had helped sort out the emergency passport, and she advised that I would need to go to Malaysia immigration to get the new passport stamped, and that it would probably cost money to do that. I was worried that they'd only stamp it for 7 days so I decided to leave that bit until later!
I headed back to the hostel, and started aking my plans for where I wanted to go next, though I wasn't entirely sure, on account of having cancelled the idea of going to Pulau Tenggol. I suspected it would involve Kuching though, as I had been hoping to go there last weekend for the World Rain Forest Music Festival, and meet up with Mariana who I had met in Bandung, Java.
Nafi took us to a warung outside of china town where he advised there was much better Rojak than what I had the night before. I was pretty hungry so I got the Rojak and Mee Rebus. The owner advised that if I am leaving any of them for later, I should leave the Rojak, and eat the Mee Rebus while it was hot.
By the time I had finished the Mee Rebus I was pretty full, so I set the Rojak aside for later,
I did some work that afternoon on the website, and spent my time between that and napping, relieved to finally have a valid full passport, allowing me to continue with my travels!
