I got up early today and moved in to Suzies Guesthouse, as Hassan had confirmed that there was now an available bed.
Once I got there, I called the High Commission as soon as they opened. Since I knew the passport had been delivered, I needed to press them to find it so that I could continue with my travels!
When I called, I was first told that I can't have the passport sent there, until I explained that I already had, and that it had already been arranged.
Once they understood that they tried to tell me that, since I had not received a phone call from them, it had not been received yet.
I explained to them that I had a proof of delivery from DHL showing that it had been delivered on the 19th of June, by someone called Ms Rose. At this point, the person on the phone exclaimed "That's our receptionist", and realised that they did indeed have my passport somewhere.
I gave them the tracking number and delivery numbers for the package, and they said they would search for it for me since it wasn't readily to hand, and call me once they had it. This could be by the end of today (A Friday), or on Monday.
As such, I let Hassan know that I would be staying until at least Tuesday, and made the relevant arrangements to stay.
Once my bed was ready, I moved my stuff in, and then met up with Nafi. He heard of my plan to go to Titiwangsa Park to take photos of the skyline at night and decided to join me, along with Jim.
We set off in the evening, and took the LRT from Masjid Jamek and walked our way to the park. Nafi was surprised at how short the distance was, as previous guests had described it as a terrible walk that lasted forever - though we suspect this may have been because they were directed along the main highway, which has no pedestrian walk way and would have been pretty terrifying to walk along!
We played dodge the traffic to cross this highway before getting in to Titiwangsa park, and making our way around the lake to find a nice view of the skyline.
Nafi and I set up our cameras, and enjoyed watching as the light faded and the city lights became reflected in the lake water.
On our way back, the high way was much busier, and though we managed to get to the central reservation, it was nigh on impossible to go further, so we turned back and tried to rely on Nafi's magic stop hand. At this point we noticed a pedestrian bridge over the highway, which would have made things a lot easier from the start!
We decided to stop by a restaurant i the area for dinner as we were all quite hungry by this point. Jim and I had Chicken Korma and plain Nan, and Nafi had some rice.
We made it back to the hostel via the LRT, this time transferring at Masjid Jamek to Pasar Seni, and sorted through the photos of the night.
