I had another lazy morning. I've been holding back on oing too much further from Kuala Lumpur, as my game plan was to do Pinang and Langkawi once I had my passport so that I could go straight on to Phuket and the rest of Thailand.
I decided though that I couldn't just sit and do nothing while in Ipoh, so I took a grab taxi to Kek Lok Tong, with a plan to walk to the 3 temples I had missed earlier on my trip with Ishimaru.
The Kek Lok Tong temple is very nice, and the cave itself goes all the way through the mountain, leading you to a beautiful garden on the other side, surrounded by the hills.
The entrance was lined with all manner of interesting sculptures, from dragons, to depictions of other famous landmarks and places from around the world
After I had walked around the garden, and noticed the limestone quarry, I walked to the 3 temples that I had missed the other day. It was quite a long walk, but I didn't mind, although it did mean that I didn't get much time to see all the other 3 - those being Sam Poh Tong, Nam Thean Tong, and Ling Sen Tong.
Ssm Poh Tong seemed to be closed, and also looked as though it had not really been open for a number of years.
After I had seen my fill, and enjoyed a nice ice cream at Ling Sen Tong, I decided to take a grab back to the hostel, though this appared to be fruitless, as no drivers were available.
I decided that it would be good for me to walk back instead, so I hiked the 7km back to the hostel. On my way back, I found a restoran, and checked the prices - the nasi goreng options were all more expensive than my normal place to eat, so I decided to not do that and continued on my way.
I made it back to the hostel, and headed to the normal place, only to find that it was closed. Of course, had I been more aware of the situation, I would have known this would be the case, given that it was the start of Hari Raya / Eid.
I ended up just going for more pizza at the Pizza Hut!
The movie for the night was 'The Avengers', and then I headed to bed.
