After sorting out my bags and checking out, I headed to the Golden Mile complex to sort out my boarding pass and bus back to Malaysia.
My first port of call was the Fairprice to buy some water for the journey, but when I got there, they had completely run out of water, and it didn't look like they were going to be replacing it any time soon!
I walked the mile or so to Golden Mile, and since I had left my main rucksack in Suies, it wasn't too troublesome. I cheked the local shop for some water, which was being charged at silly prices, so I went back to Golden Mile and to an Thai supermarket, where I managed to find 2l for 60c - much more reasonable!
My biggest concern at this point was whether or not I would be help up at the immigration crossing point, because while local busses in Singapore were not too difficult to deal with, getting anther bus from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur would be a different matter. The person at the desk was very kind, and marked my boarding pass stating that if I was delayed and missed the connection, I could get on the next one. It was 5 hours later, but at least I wouldn't have to pay for a second ticket!
After establishing where to get the bus, I found the nearest hawker center and enjoyed some lunch, before getting on the bus and settling in for the journey.
As it turned out, going through immigration was much easier for leaving Singapore and the only remarks were about how they'd never seen an emergency passport before. It was the same on the Malaysian side, so I was able to get on the bus without having a 5 hour wait for the next one!
The driver stopped again at the same service station where we had waited on the way in to Singapore, and there was also a food stop on the way to Kuala Lumpur.
We made it to TBS in good time, and I made my way to take the LRT to Suzies. Transferring at Masjid Jamek was much easier this time round, as I knew my way about, and so I got to Suziesand enjoyed a restful night - the biggest hurdle towards sorting out my passport was now crossed and I had a new 90 day visa to spend in Malaysia!
