I spent the morning relaxing, and uploading photos. Once that was done, which didn't take too long, since it was a good wifi connection, I headed out to go to theives market.
This is a flea market in Singapore that has been open since 1930, and got its name for often being used to sell stolen items. Unfortunately, this is the last month that it will be open, as the place is being closed down by the city, to make way for new houses.
On the way there, I stopped off at a hawker center, and ate some pork rice, and then continued on to the market. I took a few photos, but didn't feel the need to buy anything, having spent so much just recently on sorting out everything to do with the passport!
On the way back, I stopped again at the same hawker center, and had some
shaved ice with sweetcorn. I wasn't expecting the sweetcorn so the first taste wasn't that great, but once I realised it was sweet corn and anticipating it, it tasted really good! Who would have thought to add sweetcorn to ice!?
After that, I made arrangements to meet up with Raine, and we agreed on the Jollibee in Doby Ghaut. At first she wasn't sure such a place existed, until she looked it up on the map! We agreed to meet at one of the gates, though that was a chore to get right, as there were so many exists to the station, and also I didn't have data, so micro-organisation wasn't going to work.
We somehow managed though, and headed to the Jollibee, which turned out to have quite a long queue - still popular with the Filipino residents and locals alike!
While we queued outside, there was a zumba session going on, which made it difficult to talk, but we eventually made it in to the restaurant and got a nice table to sit at and devour the chickeny goodness that is Jollibee!
After the meal, we took the MRT down to the bayfront, and sat by the marina to catch up, before heading back by bus.
