Today was my first full day of diving here, and so I made sure I was up and ready for breakfast nice and early. I enjoyed egg on toast, with fresh fruit and teh o, and then headed to the dive center to get ready.
I was fitted with a wet suit and fins and BCD, and then got set up. We were given our dive breifing, and then headed out on the boat to Sugar Wreck.
The water was very warm, but the visibility was not great, though it was great being able to see everything clearly, even if it was murky. There were lots of parts to the wreck, and plenty of different fishes to see, including Hellers Barracuda, Puffer Fishes and of course there was a Titan Triggerfish there too!
I managed to use my air more efficiently than I had before, and felt like I was more comfortable with my bouyancy, though this may have had something to do with the fact I had less weights on me this time - 6lb instead of 3kg.
We headed back to shore, and we sorted out the kit and then I headed off for lunch - a good period of time before the next dive which was at 3.30.
The second dive site isn't on the map, and is called 14.5 by the dive place, though it is closer to site 21, which is called Teluk Kerma. Here was amazing, with visibility over 15m. We saw two stingrays, one of them was pretty big, and the rock formation was fun to swim around. Moorish Idols and porcupine fish were also on the list of spotted animals, At one point in the dive, we saw a school of Barracuda, which then circled around us and that was something to behold!
The water was very warm, indeed I felt like it was hot at points, and when we checked the computer after the dive it had registered 32°rees;C!
When I got out of the boat this second dive, I felt a stinging sensation in my foot, and noticed that I had taken the skin off above my big toe, where the fin was rubbing. We decided that for the dives after that I should wear socks to prevent it rubbing too much more.
