Kim and I headed to the station in good time and managed to catch the bus for Kuala Lumpur. As it turned out, one of the people who worked on Pulau Tioman was also there with his family. He advised us that on the day that we left, the helicopter that we had seen flying overhead was for a local who had died when her motorbike tyre blew out and she was unable to stop on the steep road. That put a bit of a damper on the mood for Tioman really, it was the first time that such a thing had ever happened there!
The journey to KL was mostly uneventful, but we did come to a road side spot where I realised it was the chance to grab lunch - both Kim and I had forgotten to get anything for the journey, so I was happy to order some sausage on a stick and some daging sandwiches.
When we got to KL, I ended up leaving my sunglasses and peak cap on the bus, and realised only after it had pulled away to the holding area. We managed to get someone to take us to the bus, where I was able to retrieve my sun glasses, but not my hat. Since I had already lost that hat once before on Tioman we decided that it was fated to no longer be with me so I let it be.
We caught the LRT train to Plaza and at that point it really started raining hard, so we put on waterproofs for the bags and walked to Suzies Guest house which we had booked in to for the next couple of nights with no further plan.
Once we had sorted out our luggage we went in search of food, and I found a place called Loong Kee, which served Bak Kut Teh. Since I had been wanting that since getting to Singapore, we went for that, along with some beer, and then headed back to the hostel.
