I woke up in time for a big breakfast, and then spent the morning getting some things ready for the dive. I had been slowly getting through my laundry by hand washing a few items at a time, so managed to finish the last of it in the morning.
I headed along the path to a resto for lunch, and on the bridge before the place, were some people taking photos of a python. I grabbed the lunch as planned, and then went to let Kim know, since he also had been wanting to see a python. It was just sat curled up in the tree, and was clearly digesting some meal that it had just eaten!
I headed back to the chalet and then to the pier to catch the boat for the fun dives.
The first dive was a bit away from Tioman Island, called Labas. It was a deep lava rock with lots of fishes to see. I managed to see a ray, but there was a strong current and I wasn't fully used to dealing with that at the same time as my bouyancy yet, so I found that I reched the designated air limit well before the other divers. By this point we were on the other side of the island to the boats, so we had to swim through an arch under the rocks before I could go up.
The dive master said I should go up on my own, so I surfaced, though as I was now very low on air I was a little uncomfortable and didn't do a safety stop.
I got to the surface with only 15bar of air left, and really, that would have been enough in retrospect, but I hadn't wanted to run out while still under water!
The boat picked me up, and then we waited for the others to surface. After that we headed to Renggis and had another dive there. Before the dive, Aki showed me some fin techniques to improve how efficiently I was swimming.
The second dive didn't have quite as good visibility, but there was much less current. We saw a giant moray eel, which was pretty amazing, as it almost looked like a plant due to just sitting in its hole with its mouth gaping open and closed. We also saw a triggerfish, and Aki tok us out away from the island where we saw some nudibranchs.
