Today Kim and I rented a Kayak and headed to Pulau Renggis for some snorkeling. We stopped off in Tekek first, in order to grab some water, and then went on to the beach beside the island. I had managed to borrow a snorkel from the owner of SPBC, though I soon discovered that the valve at the bottom to get rid of water, was broken, which meant that the snorkel was permanently filled with water!
We fashioned a fix using a bit of the bag from the water, and a rubber band, and then swam out to the island, where we enjoyed looking at all the fishes, as well as seeing all the divers. It was very busy with lots of boats, but the experience was great. We were going to swim all the way around the island but the current was too strong on the seaward side so we headed back, and then swam back to the kayak, and paddled back to Tekek.
We ate at the cafe there, and then made it back to where we had rented the Kayak. Kim's shoulder was sore from where he had falled before I arrived on Tioman, but we made it back to the place before it closed, and were given a good price for the rental - it only cost us 50 MR for the 7 hours!
