I woke up in time for breakfast, and made my way to the bus station after checking out of the Double K, and arranging with Kim that I might meet him in Tioman if he was still there when I was done with Melaka.
The bus was very comfortable, and almost all of the route was on a highway which meant that it was also comfortable driving.
We passed a lot of palm plantation (I could tell it was plantation because it was all in rows and colums, far too regular to be natural jungle!), and we also passed the Seagate factory, which I felt I had to get a photo of.
We made good time to Melaka, and I checked in to the hostel Jalan Jalan, in Chinatown, booking for a few nights. I arranged to meet Raine later on in the week, with a view that she could bring my guitar and other stuff I had left at her apartment, since I wasn't able to get in to Singapore any more!
I met some of the folk in the hostel, and we all went to the Shikh Temple, where you could eat for any size of donation that you felt was appropriate
There was no air conditioning in the room, but each bed had a fan which meant there was good air flow, so I was able to sleep reasonably well.
