The plan for the day was to rent out motorbikes and head to Sri Bethuk Waterfall. The group has grown quite large by now, with Rico, Lara, Ell, Amanda, Alvaro, Sebastien, Alex, Yannis, Preston, and myself.
As such, it was after 2pm before we were all ready to go to the bike rental place. We arranged for two taxis to get there, and Toby and Alex borrowed some bikes from the hostel.
We made it to the bike rental place, and worked through arranging the bikes. I had been convinced to get one too, though since they were scooters with no clutch, I had issues with the bike from the word go so decided not to, so hopped on the back of Sebastien's bike.
We started off by going to the gas station, and then Sebastien and Yannis were left behind at a junction and we contacted Della via WhatsApp to get help. They came back, and it was agreed that Sebastien would ride on the back of Ell's bike and I would ride on the back of Yannis's bike. I felt much more comfortable after this, and we headed as fast as we could to the waterfalls.
We climbed up over Bukit Bintang, and found our way to the waterfalls somehow, getting there only just in time for the last boat there. By this point it was raining and we had resigned ourselves to getting wet.
At the entrance, Alvaro did an impromptu Karaoke with the guy at the booth, and we pretty much had to drag him away!
We hopped on the boat and hid underneath a waterproof tarpaulin as we made our way to the waterfalls, which we weren't really able to enjoy much due to the rain, before heading back.
On our way back, we stopped off at the Bukit Bintang food place, to warm up a bit, and get some food. There wasn't any sunset, as it was still raining and we couldn't see the sun!
We headed back to the hostel in the darkness, and I'm not sure how we all got back, as we kept losing sight of each other, but we made it, and then had to queue for the showers!
The night was spend as another party, and we ended up ordering in two bottles of Gin using Gojek, and coming up with the plan to go to Borobudur and Prambanan , and we joked about taking more Gin with us - we would form a new group and be called the Gin and Temples!
As the night wore on, it became apparent that we probably wouldn't manage to use the motorbikes to get there, so we arranged to hire a car from 6am. We didn't want earlier for sunrise as we felt that it was unlikely that we would see one!
