I got up nice and early, and managed to make it to CHai and Mariana's hotel for about 5.30am. They came down with some fruit they were eating for breakfast, and we took the grab car to the bottom of the climb to Tebing Keraton.
The driver dropped us off, and we started the walk, being stopped almost every step of the way by people who wanted to give us a lift on their motorbikes for money. They all went away disappointed though!
It really felt like being in the middle of the countryside, with rice fields, and deliciously reen forests. As we climbed higher we were above the clouds and the views improved.
We made it in to the entrance, and to the main view point, which offered a superb vista across the valleys, with views of Tangkuban Perahu and Bandung.
There was a group of monkeys on the hillside below the viewpoint, and they slowly got closer to everyone who was admiring the views, so I kept a close eye on my bags, with Chai and Mariana asking if I was scared of the monkeys based on my behaviour. I advised that I wasn't so much scared of the monkeys but just aware that they would want to steal our bags - which they did eventually try to do!
We headed back down the hill side until we found a driver who was willing to take us back to Bandung for the price we quoted, and then as the girls were tired we said our goodbyes. I agreed that I would try and keep in touch and we exchanged details so that I could go and visit them in Kuching.
