Today I went to the Musium National, and again was taken back by the exchange rate, having to pay 10,000 rupiah for entry. Of course, doing the maths this works out as less than £1!
There was lots of exhibits to see, and I again got a sense of the deep history of the place, with so many different religions and cultures all mixed in to one country. It was quite eye opening really, and nothing of this history is mentioned in much western media about Indonesia.
I walked to the mall to the north of the main park, and grabbed some food there. Everyone I had spoken to so far had warned me against eating any of the street food in Jakarta - Medina had said out of 4 of her friends who ate street food, all of them ended up in the hospital - so that was warning enough for me!
