I decided that after two days of wasting time and relaxing, I really ought to go and do something touristy again, so made my way to Sentosa Island.
This is where Universal Studios is, and another load of attractions such as the trick eye display where you can take photos that look like you're in a 3D world. I didn't pay for any of those though, since, I'm already in a 3D world, and USS is more American than Singapore!
After getting the MRT to Vivo City, I chose the awkward route to the foot bridge, and went around th outside of the mall. The bridge itself to the island was so long that there were multiple travelators to help people along.
I wandered along the paths and found myself hopelessly lost on the routes around one of the hotels, so made my way back to the starting point, where I found a food court to eat lunch.
I then attempted to go the other way, and found a main road that took me to the beach on the south side of the island.
Half way there, I discovered a giant statue of the Merlion, so made my way to that, which also happened to have a transit train. I didn't twig at the time, but because of the new year celebrations, it was free to use the local island transport... doh!
There was an interesting water park walk feature on the way to the south of the island, which lent itself to nice photos, and then I made my way towards the aquarium.
After reaching the south side, I found my way to the beaches, and wandered along them until I got to a bridge to the last island. This turned out to be the most southern point on the Asian continental mainland, so I took the obligitory photos, and tried to get some nice shots of the bridge too, which had an interesting design.
I took the wrong road back to the north of the island, finding myself back on the main road instead of the pedestrian paths, and also managed to step on some fresh cement which had not been adequately marked as "Don't step on this area" ... I am now left to wonder if my footprint will be there for the next 50 years, or if the person working went back over it!
It started to rain as I made my way back across the bridge, so I headed in to the mall, discovering that I could have been inside the mall all the way!
I had an explore of the mall, which had a mini river inside it that you could use boats to go around - very swish, it almost had the feel of Venice, though probably not as I've not actually been there yet!
Dinner was vietnamese noodles in the food court, and then I headed back to Lavender and the hostel.
