It had been a week or so since I got to Singapore, and I felt almost sufficiently recovered from the full on tourism mode that I could go out and do something touristy today.
As such, I got myself a ticket to the cool houses at Gardens by the Bay, and headed there.
By now, I was starting to get used to using the MRT system, which was very integrated with the busses, and I was able to get the MRT to ust outside the main entrance to the gardens.
The weather so far had been pretty much raining all day every day, with maybe one or two days having nince snshine interspersed by showers. It was meant to be the end of the rainy season by this point in the year, but for some reason it was lasting longer than normal.
I enjoyed getting good views of the Marina Bay Sands hotel, as well as exploring the gardens themselves. I dcided to go in to the cool house with the cloud walk / inside waterfall first, and as I entered, some posts fro the Outback tour group on facebook popped up with everyone boasting about where they were, so I posted a photo of the falls at the entrance.
The cool house was very cold - I forgot to mention that so far I was finding it to be quite cold in Singapore, since it was only 28°rees;C instead of the 40°rees;C that I was experiencing in Adelaide and Melbourne!
As such, after I had managed to get around the cold house, despite it still being 28°rees;C outside, I got myself a hot tea to warm up!
By now I felt quite tired from all the walking, and decided to do the other cool house at another time.
I made my way instead to the Marina Bay itself, and found the national monument of Singapore - the Merlion. I took some obligatory shots including the Marina Bay Sands hotel, and then headed back to the hostel after dark.
