I met up with Shiho in the morning, and we went around the town center on a street art kind of tour, which took us along small arcades and in to little alleys with intresting shops. We got lost a few times, which made it more entertaining. I don't have copies of the photos yet, but we did go in to a Dr Seuss shop.
We had a plan to go and look at the street art in Fotzroy, as well as g to a cafe called Naked for Satan which has a roof top area. We hopped on the tram and made it to Fitzroy without any real plan, and tried to find the various pieces of art that were mentioned in our guide.
Some of the specific pieces we were unable to find, and it became apparent that this was less to do with our inability to follow directions and more because of the fact that the art was no longer there, instead being replaced by other works. This was especially apparent when we spoke to a local, and we were able to identify a building in one of the photos, wich was the same building that we were beside but the art piece on it was different!
We had made it to Naked for Satan but as it was just after lunch time, it was not really the best time to see the city from a roof top, so we just did the art work tour.
By the time we finished the route, Shiho had decided she wanted to find somewhere that sold Sea Urchin as she had been expecting it while in Tasmania and never got any. We spent some time searching restaurants and found one in Chinatown. We checked that turning up in casual dress was ok, and made a booking.
We got there quite late, and Shiho had to help me through the menu, as it was all sushi and sashimi and all sorts, none of which I had ever had. We opted not to have any sake, as it was super expensive for everything!
I got to try sea urchin, and had the chef's selection of sushi, as well as sharing clams and other sea food treats with Shiho. The final bill was over A$220, which rather shocked me, but the meal was definitely delicious!
