I got up early, and made my way to the station where I headed off towards Di's house. It felt a little strange this time, as the train announcement included the phrase "Please mind the gap when alighting from this train" which is what they say on the trains back in Scotland. I no longer really felt like I was on vacation, but rather was back at home.
I took the wrong train and got to the station 30 minutes earlier than Di was expecting me, so after 15 minutes I sent a text to say I was there - we both got the times mixed up!
Di picked me up and we headed to a cafe that seemed to be the place to go for cyclists - no surprises there, given Di's avid cycling past!
I grabbed two bacon + egg rolls, and we headed onwards towards Newland Head Conservation Park.
The cliff top walk in the hot weather was very pleasant, with the air temperature being kept cool by the sea. Di and I spent a lot of time catching up, with her describing what she had been up to north of New Zealand being caretaker of an Island, and I went over my plans for my trip and what I'd already done.
On the way back we came across a termite mound that had been attacked by an echidna
It was a very pleasant way to spend a day, and then we took the scenic route back to Di's house and I grabbed the train back to the center of Adelaide
