I got up around 8am, and enjoyed a nice toast and marmite (my mate) breakfast. Today is the last day on the farm, so I had to get all my belongings together and get ready for the bus. I made some last minute tweaks to my blog (made it so that the articles themselves also had a calendar selector. This time I'm sure I can do no more - especially since it's unlikely I'll have many more opportunities to use a real computer for the task!
I almost managed to get a photo of the elusive Tilly cat, however once she realised I had seen her she hid under the house again.
Ralf kept me company in the dining room with his snoring, and it was soon time to go.
The bus was 17 minutes late arriving in to Levin, and kept that level of lateness throughout the journey. The scenery overlooking the Tasman sea and the hills that are getting bigger was pretty impressive, but there was no real photo opportunities to show it off - another of those 'just for me' moments!
I made it fairly easily to the hostel in Wellington, and discovered that the free dinner that they were touting, was only between 5.30 and 6.30, so I resorted to cooking up some noodles (which were tasty all the same!).
Like the other Nomads, the wi-fi here is not free - I suspect that this will be the same for all the Nomads hostels now, so if I have a lot of data to upload, I should try and find alternatives.
I went to bed around 10.30pm , though the pub next door had excessivly loud music onwhich made it pretty hard to sleep. In addition, the bad weather meant that the door was rattling - I tried to jam the door with paper but it was too busy really and only myself and the pother person sleeping by the door was aware of it, so I fished out my foam earplugs from my rucksack.
At this point I should note that I am very pleased with the sorting puch things I got for Christmas last year - they are exceptionally handy - despite it being dark I was able to locate the one I had designated for health/welfare very quickly so got the earplugs easily, and since everything else was sorted in to the other ones, everything is still organised - genius!
Once I had the earplugs in, I soon fell asleep quite easily.
