Today was really about regrouping, sorting out my blog while I had access to a good computer, and working out what I was going to do about my travel plans.
The roads to Kaikoura are blocked in both directions by major land slides as a result of the Earthquake.

Today there were over 400 after shocks, ranging from 3.1 to 6.3, some of which could be felt at the ranch and some which couldn't. There was a fairly long one around lunch time, lasting about 40 seconds or so, which had me scurrying to the door frame, and the lights were swinging quite a lot, though it was nothing compared to the big one at around midnight!
I'd like to reassure my readers that I am fine, there was no structural damage to the property I am in in the North Island - I was 300km away from the epicenter of the quake, so I can only begin to imagine what it was like for people closer.
It is very disorienting to wake up due to being shaken about by the whole ground, and for there to be no light at all due to the power being out, while simultaneously being in an unfamiliar room!
I managed to get a lot of work done on the Blog and Photo album to make it more user friendly, and also had a chat with Colin on the phone in relation to my apartment.
